Covid-19 Guidelines
BEST PRACTICES TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 WHILE DOING LAUNDRY
USE HEAT
CDC guidelines recommend using the hottest setting allowed for the fabrics you are washing and drying.
WASH ITEMS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Wash clothing and bedding as soon as possible to prevent the spread of the virus. Especially after returning home from out in public.
WASH YOUR HANDS
Wash your hands before and after using the laundry equipment to protect yourself and others from spreading the virus. CDC recommends washing your hands for 20 seconds with warm water and soap.
USE BLEACH TO DISINFECT
Use of bleach as a disinfectant is an option, and not all fabrics are suitable for bleach. Read and follow clothing label instructions.
HANDLE SOILED LAUNDRY CAREFULLY
Don’t shake soiled laundry and remove from laundry equipment immediately.
DISINFECT BASKETS/BAGS
Be sure to disinfect your laundry bags or baskets after use.
DON’T LINGER
Limit the amount of time spent in the laundry room. Once you’re done, please vacate the premises.
LEAVE WASHER DOORS OPEN
After each wash, leave front load washer doors open to ensure the washer
dries out.
